As his mother prepares to give birth to twins, a young boy travels to Harlem, New York, to stay with his Aunt Nanette and Uncle Romie, an artist who is preparing for an upcoming show. When the boy returns home, memories of the trip and his uncle`s artwork inspire him to express his own artistic creativity. This fictional story was inspired by the life of collage artist Romare Bearden. Collage illustrations accompany the text.
