In this mystery miniseries, originally aired on public broadcasting, a former Scotland Yard detective Albert Tyburn (Trevor Eve) is sent to Nairobi to lead a new criminal investigation unit, where he encounters a complex mix of blackmail, murder, and passion. As he works to fight crime in this gritty city, he also must contend with the colonialistic leanings of the country`s expatriate population. In PRIVATE LIVES, Tyburn investigates the case of the missing, wealthy Lady Daphne Ellesmere. Along the way, he strikes up a relationship with Daphne`s sister, Emma Fitzgerald (Susannah Harker), and finds himself in a chaotic knot of secret affairs, murder, and arson.
