R. F. Foster continues his biography of Yeats. In this second volume, Yeats is taken from age 50 to his death at 79. Included in those years were World War I, Ireland`s Easter Uprising, and the establishment of the Irish Free State--during all of which Yeats maintained a controversial stance. He was also awarded the Nobel Prize (in 1923).
